This extension from the original Long Island City bar, Dutch Kills, features some excellent additions, including delicious menu options to be eaten at their long communal table. The gastropub is low-key and cozy, for those nights you just want to chill out with a cold pint. Beer not your thing? Dutch Kills also features — in true Amsterdam fashion — Absinthe, for the wild-at-heart.

For the Craft Brew Lover — Alewife

If you regularly invest in mustache wax and own a fixed-gear bike, then Alewife will likely become your LIC home base. This brewing company hosts an extensive beer list, including crafts with names like Death to Ego, and Forged in Fire. And while this location certainly appears to the craft-beer loving hipster, sports fans will also feel at home watching the game on one of the many large television screens near the bar. A win-win for all!
